THANKS .....

Just a quick note to shout a HUGE THANK YOU to all everyone that made Elk Mountain Soaring happen.

Of course there are the folks that got EMS organized and established, thank you. Cannot forget the administrative side, thanks Heidi!

The great tow pilots, Stan, Mike, Aaron, Jay and I am sure I missed one or two THANKS THANKS THANKS

A personal THANK YOU to Stan for always having everything organized and ready so we could be the dopes on the rope.

To all pilots that joined EMS, hope you had as much flying out of Morgan this year as I did.

Utah Soaring Association that parks a GROB at Morgan so everyone to fly.

To Lynn Alley for storing UGLY in his hangar and motivating many of us to fly more, push ourselves and taking us for educational and instructional rides in the DUO.

Thanks again, have a great winter and lets do it again in 2009.

Do not forget the Region 9 north competition being organized for the 2nd week in August in Logan. Get involved, assist in planning and running the competition, plan to participate (maybe fly a Grob with a less experienced club member), and lets make it happen and showcase the great soaring opportunities of Northern UT and soaring community here

Fall Colors

OK, If you haven't been soaring in the last few days/weeks/months, I strongly recommend you get out today. Fall colors are starting to "pop" and forecasts for conditions are more than favorable- (Dr. Jack gives Blipmap conditions above 14K with potential rate of climb > 500, local SLC forecast closely echos the good doctor).

See you at the field and in the air!

April Tow Pilot List

Elk Mountain Operations

Welcome to Elk Mountain Soaring. Thanks Again for joining and for supporting glider operations in Morgan.

This forum will initially provide:
1. Tow operation info: Specifically, a listing of club tow-pilots, (i.e., who they are, who is covering relevant Saturday operations, who is available for non-Saturday flights...., etc.) The listing will include appropriate contact information.
2. Comments: A discussion area for member inputs, club interactions, plans, etc.

Tow Operations:
This Saturday, Stan McGrew (mcgrew@utah-inter.net, 876-3259) will be the primary tow pilot. As a courtesy, if you would like to fly, please advise him of your intent and your projected take-off time.

For other tows this month (April), Stan will also be the principle contact. Note: I will create a "tow-pilot" list and post it to this site. The list (for EMS members)will provide the names and contact information of all EMS tow pilots.

Comments:
We were casually talking about a possible soaring safari at Nephi sometime in June. Anyone interested?
